Volunteer Ran & Community Supported

Vovinam Quang Trung takes pride in its dedicated leadership team, consisting of Masters Vuong Nguyen, Johnny Phu Ho and Son Phan. Master Vuong Nguyen, serving as the Head Master, along with Masters Johnny Phu Ho and Son Phan, are collectively responsible for the strategic direction and operational management of the school.

Our three masters, along with a team of skilled instructors, form a dynamic and well-rounded instructional team. They are responsible for guiding approximately 100 students of various ages and skill levels in their Vovinam journey.

Since 2009, we have been a volunteer-run and community-supported martial arts school, taking pride in serving the Boston area and the wider Massachusetts community. Our commitment to volunteerism and community engagement is at the heart of our school's philosophy and operations.

Masters

Vuong Nguyen

Head Master

Beginning his Vovinam training at age 10, Master Vuong was under the tutelage of Master Sen Nguyen, himself a direct disciple of Grand Master Sang Le. As a fourth-generation disciple, Master Vuong received training in the traditional methods, at times under the guidance of the Grand Master. Today, he is deeply committed to preserving, innovating, and cultivating the next generation in the art of Vovinam.

Johnny Phu Ho

Master

Johnny Phu Ho embarked on his Vovinam journey in 1993, training under Master Nguyen Dang at Brighton High School, Boston. After a hiatus from 2001 to 2008, he resumed his training with Master Tuan Do at Saint Gregory Parish Church. Master Phu was instrumental in establishing Vovinam Quang Trung in 2009 at the VietAid Community Center.

Son Phan

Master

Master Son began his Vovinam journey in 2010 and was also a student in the first cohort of the Quang Trung training center. After becoming an instructor, from 2013 to 2020, Master Son participated in training while also serving as the Deputy Managing Instructor at the Vovinam Randolph training center.
